The Yaesu FTA-850L is a walkie-talkie for the 118-136MHz (VHF AM 8.33KHz) aviation band.

Since January 1, 2018, all aircraft have the obligation to use the new 8.33khz standard , instead of 25 kHz on the VHF aviation band AM 118-137Mhz and for all air-ground communications below FL 195 in Europe.

Certification of the Yaesu FTA-850 in flight

OSAC response thanks to the contact via the DGAC:

From the CAA UK side, this portable radio is LA3 approved, and can be used as a secondary radio (on board or on the ground) but not as a primary radio in areas that require it.

The Yaesu aero FTA-850 does not come with a JAA FORM ONE form.

Bien
Radio sympa et pratique. Quelques bug de fonctionnement (Accès fonctiln Memoire qui de temos en temps refuse de s\'ouvrir...). Le logiciel de programmation via une connexion PC, ne fonction avec un système d\'exploitation en Français... Obligatoirement un OS windows 10 ou 11 mais en US... Dommage.

YAESU FTA-850L RADIO AERO AVIATION VHF AM 8.33

Reçue depuis quelques jours seulement, pas encore fait de test en vol (d'où la cote de 4/5). Trois VOR captés en étant au sol, à 10 NM du plus lointain, tous derrière un léger relief (bon, la radio avait quand même un peu de mal à stabiliser le QDR, effet ondes de sol parasites certainement)
Encodage des fréquences très facile grâce à l'application.
Ecran très confortable en utilisation nocturne, la météo ne m'a pas encore permis de juger en plein soleil.
