The Spiderbeam Heavy Duty 12m fibreglass mast is the right choice for using a wide variety of 40/80/160m long wire and GP or inverted L antennas, lightweight 1-element Quad or Delta loops for 20-10m, as well as dipoles for all HF and VHF-UHF bands, this mast can support small VHF/UHF yagis at a height of 9-10m.

This 12m telescopic mast can be erected in minutes by one person and has been specifically designed for the robustness and durability needs of portable equipment. It measures 118cm fully folded.

It has a much greater wall thickness, 2mm at its thickest, than the usual "fishing rod".

It can be used with AWG 18 (= 1mm diameter) enamelled copper wire or similar to build vertical antennas, loops, dipoles, etc.

For guy wires, fine fishing monofilament (1mm diameter) or similar rope is suitable.

Unlike the poles offered by most competitors, the top segment of the Spiderbeam is not a very thin and fragile whip. Instead, the mast can be used over its full 7m length, offering great flexibility and optimal height utilisation.

It uses a special reinforcement winding technique, where several layers of fibreglass are wound in an alternating direction (cross-wound), which considerably increases their lateral and linear strength.

The joints between the individual tube segments are also strengthened by a larger than usual overlap.

Unlike other poles where the top segment is very thin like a whip, the top segment of the Spiderbeam Heavy Duty poles has a diameter of 8mm (and a wall thickness of 1.4mm), which allows them to be used over their entire 12m length.
