The A99 is equipped with the Solarcon Twin Ring Adjust-A-Match system which allows the antenna input to be tuned to achieve an optimum signal to noise ratio over a range of frequencies.

Raising the rings increases the frequency and lowering the rings decreases the frequency.

Notes :

  1. Connector at the bottom section: When measuring with a multimeter on the UHF-Female connector between the conductor and the ground, a short circuit will be measured, this is quite normal. The reason is the special design of the A99.
  2. Middle section: When measuring with a multimeter between the top and the bottom of the middle section, continuity is found.
  3. There is a capacitor in the middle section because it is a 5/8 wave antenna, but there is no capacitor in the middle section of the A99 because it is a 1/2 wave antenna
  4. There may be a small difference in colour between the lower and middle/upper section. The reason for this is a difference in the production of these sections

J'ai arrêté le 11m il y a plus de 20 ans, déjà à l'époque j'avais une A99... Pour mon retour en fréquence et pour faire simple, j'ai repris la même antenne qui me donnait entière satisfaction à l'époque ! Antenne fiable qui passe très bien, idéale pour le DX. Niveau construction, elle est très résistante au vent, très flexible, que du positif.

très très bonne antenne surtout pour le 10 et 11m et le 15 m avec un turner extérieur j'aie fait le tour du monde avec cette antenne ,je vous conseille le kit radians elle tire plus loin. elle a 38 ans mais il faut l'entretenir lui passer du vernie en bombe in colore tous les 2 a 3 ans. mettre de la graisse cuivrée sur les éléments a visés ainsi que sur le kit radians mes 73 f4gwk op yvon.
