The LNA HF from F1OPA is a pre-amplifier and a low-pass filter (LNA), very powerful (+18dB to +20dB), with SMA Female connectors, for HF frequencies and short waves from 500 kHz to 30 MHz, with electrostatic protection (ESD) and LED operation indicator.
It makes it possible to significantly improve reception performance, in shortwave and on the HF amateur radio bands, using an RTL-SDR dongle with the Ham it up HF SDR converter, for example.
The power supply is to be made yourself by soldering 2 power cables (VCC + and -) on the board and supplied between 7V and 13V.
Comes with: 1 HFLNA F1OPA PCB board. Aluminum case available as an option.
This material replaces the LN4HF which is no longer manufactured.
Power supply: 7V to 13V DC
Consumption: 29mA
Frequency range: 500kHz to 30MHz
Reception gain: +18dB to +20dB
NF: 3.4dB @ 15Mhz
Impedance: 50 ohms
Electrostatic protection (ESD)
LED operation indicator
Antenna connector: SMA Female
Dimensions: 40 x 30 (excluding SMA connector)
Amateur radio design: F1OPA
2 years warranty*
The antenna input and output are tuned to 50 ohms, and there is no significant degradation with 75 ohm TV cables.
VERY IMPORTANT
This preamplifier is very powerful and to be used with care, never use it near strong signals, nor emit a radio signal nearby, (FM radio, amateur radio station, walkie-talkie, pmr446, etc.) under penalty of "grilling" "the LNA and your HF or SDR receiver!
This LNA is also very sensitive to electrostatic discharges which can damage it.
How to protect the LNA from electrostatic discharges?
Electro-static discharge can damage the LNA if it is not protected or used properly.
1 - Never leave the LNA plugged in permanently or place it permanently behind an antenna on the mast
2 - Disconnect the antenna and make sure the LNA and the antenna are properly grounded, before reconnecting the antenna, discharge the static electricity from the cable
3 - This short waves LNA is equipped with ESD protection by BAV99 diode, so in the event of lightning it is the diode that will be damaged but not the rest of the LNA card.
No LNA will be taken back or exchanged for misuse.
* The warranty does not cover damage that may result from a mounting error, incorrect antenna adjustment (SWR), maximum input power not respected, or a short-circuit of the power supply or coaxial line and damage from electrostatic discharge.
