The Flamingo v2 FM is a high-attenuation FM...
The Flamingo v2 FM is a high-attenuation FM notch filter, shielded against electromagnetic interference by a custom anodised aluminium housing.
Supplied with: 1 Flamingo V2 band-cut filter and a male SMA-male connector.
Flamingo+ FM has been designed to provide sufficient attenuation for FM broadcast frequencies (>60dB typical average and >70dB typical maximum stopband attenuation) while ensuring that adjacent bands, such as the important VHF air band (108-137MHz), are minimally affected.
The -3dB attenuation of the filter is 75MHz and 120MHz, and the -10dB attenuation of the filter is 80MHz and 116MHz.
These are generally urban areas, but also rural areas where there are high-power FM transmitters nearby. For other locations, we strongly recommend considering the original Flamingo FM v1, which has lower stopband attenuation, but also lower attenuation of the nearby VHF airband (108-137MHz), as well as otherwise similar out-of-band characteristics and performance.
It probably sounds more complicated than it actually is. For more information and to determine whether it is suitable for your particular application, we strongly recommend that you consult the full graphics and performance characteristics available in the 'Downloads' tab of the product page. It will be much easier to assimilate the information.
The minimum out-of-band insertion loss (<0.25dB) means that the filter can remain in place for most applications. The recommended maximum signal level is +18dBm (5Vp-p), so there's no problem using the filter if you have higher power requirements than most people. As this is a true notch filter, it is possible to pass DC (bias power) when required. DC current handling is 250mA (min).
The front end of Flamingo+ FM is protected by an ESD diode designed for RF applications. Designed and manufactured by Nooelec in North America, with a full 2-year product warranty.
