The very low noise, the input bandpass filter that will prevent overloading of stations on different bands, and the high IP3 of the preamplifier are the keys to successful contesting, DXing, or EME.

Why is there a male "N" connector on the input side of the preamplifier as opposed to the usual female "N" connector?
If you want the lowest possible noise level and therefore the best reception performance, you need to pay attention to every 0.1 dB of loss on the input side of the preamplifier. Every connecting cable has a loss. Even the best ones.
This way, there is virtually no loss and the best possible reception performance is obtained.
The second most important key to obtaining the best reception performance is input filtering. Nowadays, almost all manufacturers do not apply any filtering to the input of preamplifiers, which is a source of annoyance.
Thanks to input filtering, this combination of preamplifier and bandpass filter is much more protected against interference from strong out-of-band signals, such as 6m, 4m, 3m or 70cm.
