Digirig is an integrated open-source digital interface for amateur radio, developed by Denis from K0TX.

Designed to simplify connections between radios on the one hand, and computers, tablets or smartphones on the other.

The interface combines a USB hub, an audio codec and a CAT (Computer Aided Transceiver) interface in a compact package.

This all-in-one solution is designed to reduce cable clutter and improve the experience of radio operators, both in fixed stations and in mobile or portable environments.

Digirig Lite Rev 1.2 is the minimalist version of Digirig Mobile with the same audio codec but without the serial port.

  • Combines audio codec and PTT switch
  • Supports PTT through the GPIO3 of the CM108 audio codec
  • Supports VOX PTT via the tone on the unused right channel (experimental)
  • Works with all major operating systems: Windows, MacOS and Linux

1.0 - Initial release, GPIO PTT operation was confirmed by several testers with a range of applications. The PTT by tone circuit was not considered robust and was therefore disconnected.

1.1 - Reduction of the current limiting resistor in the PTT line to accommodate existing Digirig cables which already contain resistors. Improved tone-on-tone PTT on the correct channel - now works with a range of software and applications, but is considered experimental at this stage.

1.2 - Form factor change to USB-C cable with USB-A adapter included, added indicators for power and PTT, significant improvement to tone/VOX PTT. Solder pads to individually disable PTT via GPIO3 and VOX. Easy access pad to codec GPIO lines used for COS and CTCSS.
