What scope of approved PMR446?

- PMR446 transceiver manufacturers often claim a range of up to 10 kilometers, but this distance is theoretical and calculated only under test conditions.
- In a city, the range will not be more than a few streets.
- In the countryside, the range can reach 500 meters.
- In completely open areas, at the top of a mountain or on the sea, the range can be up to a few kilometers.

This applies to all approved PMR-446 regardless of brand, as they are all limited to 0.5W max. only.
