SPK - Do not install this jumper wire, see SPK*** note below
PTT**: A 1.5Kohm to 2.2Kohm resistor is required instead of the normal jumper wire, otherwise you may damage the radio. Use only a 1/4 watt resistor, as it has the correct size wires to connect to the SignaLink jumper, a larger resistor will damage the plug. Also as noted on http://members.optuszoo.com.au/jason.reilly1/578mods.htm#Microphone, the radio must have VOX detection enabled or the PTT will not work.
SPK***: The microphone jack on this radio uses differential audio which cannot be used with Signalink, otherwise you will damage the radio's audio amplifier. Instead, attach the supplied audio cable between the SignaLink's SPKR jack and one of the radio's external speaker jacks.
