rating Read the review
Average rating: 1/5 Number of reviews: 1

The M0CVO high power 4:1 Balun operates from 1.8 to 54MHz. It supports up to 400W CW or 500W PEP in SSB.

It is used to convert the 200Ω impedance seen at the feed point of a bent or off-centre fed dipole to an impedance close to the 50Ω required by your transceiver.

Simply connect a dipole wire to each of the two threaded terminals and secure with the wing nut. A crimp lug is included for each terminal.

Each leg of the dipole should also be threaded through the corresponding strain relief ring to prevent excessive stress on the terminals.

Attach your 50Ω coaxial feed line to the SO239 connector at the base of the balun, raise the antenna to a reasonable height (a quarter wave at the lowest required frequency is optimal), connect the other end of the coaxial cable to your transceiver (via an external tuner).

Supplied with: 1 M0CVO 4:1 balun.

Data sheet

  • Frequency: 3.5Mhz / 7MHz
  • Type : Dual band dipole trap antenna
  • Power: 400W PEP (CW or SSB), 50-60W max. en FT8, AM ou RTTY
  • Impedance: 50 Ω
  • Connector PWR-BU-55 : UHF female (SO-239)
  • Length : 26m
  • Weight: 1.85kg
  • Connector : UHF Female (SO-239)
  • V.S.W.R. : <1.5

IMPORTANT: Maximum power is indicated in PEP and is for amateur radio use in intermittent mode (CW or SSB) only.

Not suitable for AM broadcasting or constant carrier data modes (such as FT8 or RTTY) at high power (100W). For these modes, reduce power considerably (50W max recommended) to avoid overheating and damage to the balun. For full-power use in constant-carrier modes, opt for a QRO balun.
