Antenna analyzer AA-650 Rigexpert 0.1-650Mhz Bluetooth (ex. AA-600)

rating No review at the moment

The RigExpert AA-650 (former AA-600) is a powerful antenna analyzer designed to test, verify, tune or repair antennas and antenna feed lines operating from 0.1 to 650 Mhz and with bluetooth.

The measurement of the SWR (standing wave ratio, SWR), the impedance, as well as the Smith / polar chart make it possible to reduce the time required for tuning an antenna and to optimize the performance of an antenna. radio communication station.

This analyzer does not require calibration to start measuring and the analyzer can connect to a PC to retrieve data.

Supplied with: 1 RigExpert AA-650, 1 soft case with straps, 3 rechargeable NiMH batteries, 1 battery charger, 1 USB cable, 1 N-UHF adapter, 1 user manual.

Structure diagram

The RigExpert AA600 antenna analyzer structure diagram can be found below:

The brain of the analyzer is an Atmel 8-bit RISC microcontroller. It controls an AD9958 DDS chip operating at 500 MHz and generating two sine wave signals. The two signals are filtered by a low pass filter and then pass through pulse shapers, producing two square waves with LVDS levels.

After the switch, the signal is mixed with the output of the second channel to produce an audio frequency of 2 kHz. A variable attenuator is used to keep the level of the audio signal within the desired range. This signal is then filtered and transmitted to the microcontroller via the 16-bit ADC. There is a simple relationship between the measurement frequency, DDS frequencies and the attenuator dividing ratio:

The 320 × 240 TFT color display and 6 × 3-key keypad are connected directly to the central unit. The analyzer is equipped with 128K of external flash memory to store measurement results, as well as 32K of fast external FRAM. The USB interface chip is used to connect the analyzer to the PC.

Deck details

Here is a diagram of the resistive bridge and its connection to the mixer:

The switch which is controlled by the central unit feeds the signal from the certain side of the bridge to the mixer chip. When the load is fully active and its resistance is 50 Ω, the bridge is balanced and the switch emits the same signal in both positions. This eliminates the need to calibrate the analyzer, also giving a very good precision in the neighborhood of SWR = 1.
