ACARS 131-136 Mhz

Selection of antennas for the reception of ACARS signals from airplanes on the VHF 131-136 Mhz frequency band: vertical external antenna, QFH quadrifilar helix and turnstile.

For the reception and decoding of ACARS we recommend using an RTL-SDR dongle with acarsd decoding software for Windows and Linux, SkySpy, WACARS, ACARS Analyzer, planeplotter, ACARS decoder, MultiPSK or Acarsdeco2.

The addition of a filter and pre-amp is recommended to improve the number of decodes and the coverage distance.
